Most of the people say yes, the government play a role in distinguishing the professionalism of each healthcare worker because they must be able to prove they have the knowledge to do the job in which they claim. That being said, the quality of the professional will be measured. Any applicant for license be able to show that those minimum requirements have been met and must meet minimum standards. That is for any government regulated license, not just those in the medical field.
