Aboriginal and Torres strait islander people are those people who live in Torres strait islande (central Australia) who is identified as aboriginal . They have there own culture ,beliefs, knowledge, material practices .

Two critical issues that influence communication with aboriginal and Torres strait islander people are :-

- linguistics differences- abroginals have there own language called aboriginal language as mother tongue . They don't speak Standard Australian English which is taught in schools and media . This acts as a barrier in communication and causes miscommunication.

- cultural differences - the aboriginals and Torres strait islander people have different cultures . There culture practices and beliefs acts as a barrier in communicating with them.
