Answer #1

The two disease processes that could precipitate an event such as this are :-

  • Severe asthma : This disease can cause anoxic anoxia. Anoxic anoxia occurs when there is not enough oxygen available to our body. Asthma is a inflammatory disease of the airways of the lungs in which our airways narrows, swells, and produce extra mucus. As a result of this, there is airflow obstruction and hence there is shortage of oxygen in the body. Such situation can lead to anoxic event in the body.
  • Heart attack : This disease can cause stagnant anoxia. Stagnant anoxia occurs when the blood which contains oxygen does not reaches our brain or any other parts of our body. Heart attack is a cardiovascular disease during which the blood supply that normally provides oxygen to the heart is cut off and the cardiac muscles begins to die. As a result of this blood cannot be pumped to different parts of the body and thus there would be oxygen shortage in the body. Such situation can also lead to the anoxic event in the body.

These are the examples of two diseases that could precipitate an anoxic event in the body.
