There is no exact treatment for down’s syndrome, but there are ways to improve the quality of life by leading a healthy, active and independent lives.

Care of a down's syndrome child:
• Provide adequate nutrition. Assess the child for the ability to swallow and provide nutrition counselling.
• Encourage parents to take the child for regular check up of their hearing and vision.
• Provide emotional support and motivation.
• Provide environmental stimulation under supervision like social interaction and physical activities.
• Modify gross motor and sensory activities.
• Talk slowly and use pictures.
• Get help from a speech therapist.
• Follow proper hand hygiene.
• Rinse child's mouth after feeding and when dry.
• Involve parents while giving care and explain the procedures and treatment.
• Allow parents to verbalize their doubts and questions.
