  1. In adult female patients, what is the effect of using cranberry products to prevent recurrent urinary tract infections compared to no cranberry juice?

Answer #1

The active ingredients present in canaberry products like canaberry juices prevent the sticking/adherence of the bacteria like E.coli in the wall of urinary bladder and thus prevent the chances of recurrent urinary tract infections in the patients. As in case of recurrent UTI long term antibiotics therapy is required and thus there are incidences of antibiotic resistance by the bacteria.

Hence canaberry products are recommended in management of such recurrent UTIs.
