What is the difference between a DNP and a PhD in nursing? Which of these would you choose to pursue if you decide to continue your education to the doctoral level?
Dear student:
As per the best available resources as well as regulatory guidelines I have concluded that the DNP is totally a practice oriented doctorate degree as the part of advanced nursing practices
On the other hand PhD is a research and academic oriented doctorate programme.
More specifically the DNP progrramme was planned to put nursing staff towards the entry-level practices as the MD, MS and MDS.
Thus both the DNP and PhD are considered as the terminal degrees in the nursing profession.
