You are asked about a diagnosis you are unfamiliar with. Where would you start looking for information? How would you determine how valid the information is?
Finding the diagnosis of a unfamiliar condition is a challenging task. If I would asked to do it, I will start it from patient's present complaints . Then I will go through the signs and symptoms and I will correlate it with patient's investigation report. I will also check the past medical and surgical history of the patient. I will order for vital signs and basic diagnostic tests. To determine its validity, I will collect data from the family members and relatives and I will do thorough assessment of the patient. I can also use his medical records for the diagnostic purposes.
