Risks for food additives:

it may lead to many hypersensitive issues such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, insomnia, asthma, rhinitis, itching, rashes and swelling.

GRAS is generally recognised as safe which show that a chemical or any substance is added to food and considered safe by experts when used in accordance with good manufacturing practices.
