US should learn from the UK’s experience and decide to see medical care as a social provision rather than a commodity as the healthcare in the USA is delivered almost exclusively by the private sector. Hospitals are owned by profit private companies and by charitable organizations that are nonprofit. This makes the system to commercial where a patient is often treated as a client. In contrast in the UK, the healthcare is a public sector. The USA spends the most on the healthcare in the world while the UK is at the bottom among the industrial countries. The responsibilities of the US government to ensure the health and well-being of its citizens are tied to the Constitution unflaggingly giving the Congress the power and the responsibility to equally render, to the people, both defense and welfare.
