In both cases vaginal and Cesarean Section delivery vaginal bleeding is normal and it is known as a lochia . Bleeding is heaviest in the first few days after baby is born. But if heavy bleeding continues after that, It may lead to serious problem.

Heavy bleeding after giving birth is called postpartum hemorrhage. It's most likely happens in the first 24 hours after delivery. But it can happen anytime within the first 12 weeks after baby birth.

Postpartum hemorrhage is serious. It can cause a big drop in blood pressure. If the pressure gets too low, body organs won't get enough blood. And it can cause death.

Treatment includes-

1.Perform a laparotomy-

Surgery to open abdomen to find out the cause of bleeding and stop it.

2.Perform a hysterectomy-

Surgical removal of the uterus.

3.Special medicine to stop the bleeding.
