At one point in time, we had a mouse infestation in our house. There was construction going on in two old buildings close to where we lived and many of the mice moved into our house. We must have caught 20 mice before it was all done. Imagine 10 mice couples each having 5 babies. Then imagine these babies growing up and having their own children. This is the start of exponential growth.

Patients sometimes will experience exponential growth with certain conditions in the medical field. Give an example of a potential exponential growth inside the patients body and what hospital personnel may do to stop this growth. Unless you have worked in the medical field previously, you may not know an actual example so an educated guess is fine.

Answer #1

Exponential growth in the patient we can see this in the breast and liverr cancers, the tumor starts as a few cells and then it growth is so expotential because the tumor cells grow at constant rate by dividing, these cells divide without constaints and contiue to double indefinietly, and when the symptoms are ellicidated then the patient comes for the medical care and to stop the expotential growth in the patient the team of medical works on it like medical oncologist, surgical oncologist, radiation oncologist, oncology nurse, oncology social workers, psychiatrist, dietitian/nutritionist, pharamacist, home health aide.
