How spina bifida and meningocele are related to Hydrocephalus?
I hope you will rate my answer positively --
Both the conditions spina Bifida and meningocele are related to hydrocephalus. It is a condition of an abnormal accumulation of CSF in the cranial vault. About 80-90% people born with spinal Bifida also have hydrocephalus. The spinal Bifida or meningocele causes Arnold Chiari II malformations in which brain comes downward than its original position into upper spinal column due to which flow of fluid from brain get obstructed which lead to pressure in brain and this pressure from the fluid create space in brain called ventricles which further swells the head and become large. Meningocele is a type of spinal Bifida rarely occur when a sac of fluid of spinal cord pushes through an opening. It leaves to opening in the spine.
