Answer #1

Kidneys are meant for filtering the blood , eliminating the waste products ,maintaining overall fluid balance, creating hormones which produce red blood cell, promote bone health and regulate blood pressure. As we have two kidneys ,can live with one kidney as it serve all the function as the two do.Therefore one people can donate one kidney or can live with one kidney post nephrectomy. But on a longterm base ,people with one kidney can develop Hypertension, elevation of creatine on strain of renal system etc.But in case of total kidney failure ,dialysis wont replace all the functions of the actual kidney performs as the blood cell production .
