To assess the respiratory system we will use: the focused health history which consists of; present health status, past medical history, family history, environmental conditions and recent international travel. After this a physical examination is conducted. Followed by the usage of special techniques of assessment such as; palpating the posterior chest wall for expansion of the thorax.
