To get ventrogluteal site place the palm on the greater trochanter and form a V shape with the middle finger toward the anterior iliac crest and index finger on the anterior superior iliac spine. in the center of the V just below the anterior superior iliac crest. because in this site there are no large blood vessels and nerves and it is away from the bone tissue in ventrogluteal site.
The deltoid muscle is one of the IM injection sites that we can use to administering vaccines or other medications.
The intramuscular injection site in the buttocks is the upper, outer quadrant. if the injection given outside this area cause sciatic nerve injury and accidental penetration of the gluteal artery.
