Answer: In the healthcare organizations, it is a ethical as well as legal duty of the healthcare professionals to provide care to every patient. They can not turn away patient onnthe basis of race or gender. The EMTALA that is the federal law which mainly focus on the patient care. It includes that every patient in the department of emergency should be treated without any discrimination as well as regardless their color, race or insurance.

There are various laws which prohibits the discrimination process. Any violation to this act causes the healthcare organizations to loose their registration and may fine up to $50,000 per violation. The healthcare organizations may face lawsuit.
