Telehealth has great potential to expand access and improve the quality of rural healthcare. It can reduce burdens for patients, such as travel to receive specialty care, and improve monitoring, timeliness, and communications within the healthcare system.

• Chronic care management interventions
• Access to specialists in real time providing consults to local providers for emergency care.
• Home monitoring
• Long-term care

*Disadvanatges are:

• The Health clinician is unable to physically examine you
• The video may fail, although this is rare and the consultation can usually be completed by phone
• Video consultation may not always be clinically appropriate.
