It’s important for loved ones to talk to patients about death/dying if they are at risk for it as this prepares the patient for the ultimate reality which no one can escape. The aim of medicine is not to increase the lifespan but to improve the quality of life as increasing lifespan is beyond scope. If we are prepared for death we value each and every moment of life and celebrate it. Our loved ones can be our best counselor for this cause as in them we have the most trust. People who are prepaid for death are wise in their decisions about life as well.
