Both genders can adversely affected by urine and bowel incontinence due to enlargement of prostate gland in males and loss of pelvic muscle tone in female after delivery. The order is given following

• Assess and manage client with an alteration in elimination
• Perform irrigations
• Provide skin care to clients who are incontinent
• Use alternative methods to promote voiding
• Evaluate whether the client's ability to eliminate is restored.
