Answer: Quality and Safety Education for Nurses aim was to educate the future nursing workforce to be competent on patient safety and healthcare quality principles. It is mandatory because many of the deaths occurs due to medical error. Systems thinking is the ability to recognize, understand, and synthesize the interactions and interdependencies in a set of components designed for a specific purpose. This strategy includes the ability to recognize patterns and repetitions in interactions and an understanding of how actions and components can reinforce or counteract each other.

Nurses represent the largest group of US health care workers and increased understanding and integration of QSEN competencies has the potential to make a sizeable impact in health care quality and outcomes. There is relation betwwen the Josie's story as her daughter died due to the medical error.
