Cross sectional study is also called as transverse study,

or prevalence study in medical research.It and s a type of observation study where analysis on the people are done at a specific time .It is called as cross sectional data.In health care system it is used to access the acute and chronic conditions but is is expensive in rare diseases study.It has a bias patient can't remember past events accurately.

For example a cross sectional study on beer and obesity .The results predict that there are so many factors contributing to the obesity in men and women than who take beer or not.

For example if we do a cross sectional study between food and weight gain it includes varying factors like diet,age,sex,life style etc., at a specific period of time in life to get the report.
