Maternal mortality rate is a death of woman during her pregnancy or up to a year after her pregnancy has terminated if the death was related to her pregnancy.

Maternal mortality rate higher in U.S because

1)prenatal care -doctor may be unwilling or unable to provide care for pregnant mothet due to high cost

2)Racial disparity- african american women are four times as likely to duffer maternal mortality.

3)social disparity- women are affected by the stress which then affects theire pregnancies .

4)Post partum care- they meet with their physician just once after delivery due to this long gap many health problem remain unchecked.
