Answer #1

We use statistics in nursing research for to determine trustworthiness of results and to draw favourable conclusion for a study which acts as evidence.Samples in research are drawn to represent the population under study as it is not always necessary or even possible to study the entire population. The population and samples are developed as sampling plan using statistics to conduct a research.

The following statistics were calculated from two random samples taken from two populations following a normal distribution: S1^2=350, n1=30, S2^2=700, n2=30 1. Can you infer that the two parent variances are different at a 5% significance level? 2. If the number of samples is n1 = 15 and n2 = 15, repeat question 1. 3.
