- Infants have solitary type of play

- Toddlers have parallel or therapeutic play

- Pre schoolers have associative and co-operative play

- School age children have competitive play

- Adolescents have games and athletic with strict rules

Advantages of play are:-

- It helps in the proper growth and development of the child .

- It helps in the mental development of child

- It teaches the child how to interact socially

- helps in strengthening of bones, joints and muscles

- helps to engage in physical activity and less fatigue is experienced.

- It provides the child the experience of how to face challenges , failures in life .
