Post surgery from hip fracture patient has high risk of developing bed sores / pressure ulcers due to limited ability to move or change positions.

Bedsores usually develop on the skin which covers bony areas of the body like the hips, tailbone, heels & ankles.

To identify bed sores, nurses should always monitor for warning signs such as

• Swelling
• Skin area which feels warmer or cooler than other areas
• Skin color or texture changes
• Draining of pus
• Tenderness in skin
