Answer #1

Vinblastine sulphate is a drug which is mainly used as a treatment for cancer. Order of drug is 3.7mg/m^2 IVP which indicates that the patient is receiving the first dose of medicine.Usually the dose of drug will be increased by 1.85mg/m2 per week until the patients WBC count reaches 3000/mm3.

The vial contains 10mg and the dilution is in 10 ml NS.So each ml contains 1mg of drug.As per order 3.7 ml to be administered over one minute once a week.(1ml=1mg,3.7ml=3.7mg)

Drug should be administered in 15 seconds=0.925 ml (3.7/60x15) or( 3.7/4)

.93 ml can be givento the patient as ivp over 15 seconds .
