To solve this question easily, Lets assume the number of people = 6 (why 6? - - >LCM of 2 and 3,so that we get the denominator of both fraction same)

Then, Elderly men = 1/2 × 3/3 = 3/6

Young women = 1/3 ×2/2 = 2/6

i.e, out of 6 patients :-3 are elderly men, 2 are young women and the rest 1 can be either young man or elderly woman.

#The percent of patients NOT elderly or women - - >exclude both elderly and women - - >elderly men, elderly women and young women are excluded. i.e.,only young men included. It can be either one in 6 or zero in 6 - - >

Therefore pecent of patients NOT elderly or women is 16.66 % or 0 %.
