Resilience is the ability of individual to cope with crisis. It is an integral part of mental health promotion. Resilience is important in reducing and preventing the severity of mental health problems. It is defined as a capacity or set of skills that allow a person to prevent, minimize or over come the damaging effect of adversity. Internal and external factors of a person such as emotions, behavior, biology, development and context affect mental health. It can be over come by protective factors including one's coping skill, healthy family and social relationship, help seeking behavior and meaningful activities and interactions.
