Define humanities, in your own words.How does a humanities course contribute to an education in the nursing field?

Humanities is the study of the different languages and literature of the world, the arts, history, music, and philosophy. Thus it is a study of the different aspects of human society and culture; different ways of processing and documenting the human experience. A humanities course contributes to an education in the nursing field as it teaches us the skills of communication i.e. the language, it teaches the nurses about the various philosophies and thus makes them more culturally sensitive and better for evidence-based practice. Apart from this, a course of Humanities teaches creative problem-solving in nursing.
