It helps in diagnosis diseases and preventing medical errors thus promoting patient outcomes. In case of emergency EHR provides information regarding any life threatening allergies or change in medication. If there is a change in the treatment or if a medication is added by the primary care provider it alerts the clinician regarding it. It helps in checking for the adherence to the treatment.
