Management structures are of three main types, functional, divisional and matrix.
Functional structure:
* It is the organisation of groups according to its purpose I, e. Department work separately
* Structure is best useful for small work areas.
* Co-ordination and communication between departments can be restricted And hence is a drawback.
Divisional structure:
* It works for a wide geographic area that has separate smaller organisation within the umbrella I, e. Larger copmanies
* It is more rapid and specific
* It can be cumbersome, as communication is inhibited.
* It is not cost effective because of its size and scope.
Matrix structure:
* It is a hybrid of divisional and functional structures.
* It allows functional and divisional structures to exist in one organisation.
* Power struggle is a drawback due to dual management.
