The dental assistant should explain the patient about the safety measures used in dental clinics :

Before autoclave , washer and chemical disinfectors are used to clean the instruments. All dental instruments that are capable of being autoclave are fully sterilized after each and every patient. Autoclave works by cleaning the instruments with steam at a very high temperature and pressure over a period of time.

Chemical disinfection also done by using strong chemicals which kills bacteria and viruses. Chemical disinfection is done for plastics chair work surfaces that cannot be autoclave.

Wearing a new set of disposable gloves and masks for every patient. This precaution helps to prevent cross infection.m
