Answer #1

The most relevant legal consideration is informed consent. The code of ethics of health care professionals mentions that the patients have the right to know the truth about their medical condition and have the right to choose treatment options. The health care professionals should make it a priority to provide sufficient information that is understood by the patients which will help them to make decisions on their own. There will always be a conflict between the patient and the health care professionals in the decision of treatment. They have to stick to both the ethics of autonomy and beneficence. For example the family members of the patient will tell the doctor not to inform the patient regarding his medical condition. In this situation the doctor is stuck in between autonomy and beneficence.
