Endospores were discovered by Ferdinand cohn when he was wornking on the assignment of growth of bacillus subtilis on the cheese after boiling the cheese.

Then he foumd the spores when tries to study the growth of bacillus subtilis on cheese and concluded that spores as reproductive mechanism for growth which proved wrong in future when more more research done on spore and finally found that spores is dormat stage of microorganisms to protect itself from unfavourable condition and harsh environment
