LUBIPROSTONE:
Mechanism of action:Opening of chloride channels locally in the GI luminal epithelium, which stimulates chloride rich intestinal fluid secretion and shortens GI transit time.
USES:Chronic idiopathic constipation in adults.
COMPLICATIONS:Headaches,diarrhea,nausea,,dry mouth,runny nose,back pain.
PRECAUTION:Allergic reaction of the medicine.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:Patients with history of GI obstructions
DRUG INDICATION:Methadone, abacavir,acarbose,acemetacin.
ADMINISTRATION:oral route,taken along with food ,usaullt twice daily swallow the medication do not break or chew.
NURSING INTERVENTION:Instruct patient to take medication as prescribred,inform dyspnea may occur within 1st hour of firts dose, advise patient that diarrhea is common but inform it is severe.
