  • trioses - three carbon sugars
  • tetroses- Four carbon sugars
  • pentoses- Five carbon atoms
  • hexoses- six carbon atoms
  • heptoses- seven carbon atoms

A carbohydrate made up of multiple units of glucose. It is stored in the form of glycogen in the liver and muscles.The basic unit of all sugars is the glucose.
