ANTIPEPTIC AGENT :
ACTIONS: It is a proton pump inhibitors which
works by inhibiting the gastric mucosal enzyme which is
anhydrase.
INDICATIONS :
- Gastritis.
- Peptic ulcer disease.
- Stomatitis.
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
PHARMACOKINETICS :
- Its plasma half life is 0.5 - 1.0 hours.
- Antiseptic agent is absorbed in the small intestine.
- The absortion is completed in 3 - 6 hours.
- Presence of food does not affect the agents absorption.
CONTRAINDICATIONS :
- Liver failure.
- Renal diseases.
- Pregnancy.
- Geriatric patients.
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
- Constipation.
- Abdominal disomfort.
- Vomiting.
- Nausea.
- Headache.
