Answer #1

Opioids, which act on the opioid receptors which will gives relief from chronic pains and just acts like a pain killer and this is also used in anesthesia. Using the prescriptions of opioids in long run will effect very badly especially in the older adults who are suffering from arthritis, and also used in surgerys. Most of the doctors suggest that using opioids for long time will of course reduce the chronic pains but will ultimately leads to adverse effects and also may leads to death in older adults. So using for short span of time which is less than 3 months and the remaining can be reduced by therapies based on the problem of the patient. These are the problems associated to opioids which ultimately shows adverse effects in older adults in long run.
