Therapeutic communication used- CLARIFICATION-

Specific clarification techniques includes exploring,paraphasing,reflecting and restating.

For eg.Patient appears struggling with feeling overwhelmed by caring of their newborn (non-verbal facial cues)

Nurse- "You appear anxious and upset.Would yoy like to talk about it?"

It help the nurse to ensure that nurse has recieved and interperated the complete and correct message without any errors without any false assumption of her own.

(Clarification subpart reflection-this technique reflects and mirrors what the nurse believes the clients feeling to be underneath the words or expressions.)
