CENTRAL VENOUS CATHETER:-
                 - It is a catheter placed into a large vein.
                 - for example - internal jugular vein, subclavian vein, axillary vein,femoral vein etc.
  
MEDICAL HISTORY:-
    - first catheterization of a central vein was performed by the English clergyman Stephen Hales.
- In 1733 he fixed a glass tube to the left jugular vein of a thrown mare in order to measure venous pressure.
