till now,no antiepileptic drugs are considered to be safe in pregnancy, in terms of teratogenesis.Tratment must be individualized for all patients.If necessary,drug with low dose should be administered to pregnant women. The most acceptable drugs are those which have low tertogenicity.They are;

1.Gabapentin

2.Leviteracetam

3.clonazepam

4.Lamotrigine

The reasons why it has very low risks is because;

• no antifolate effects
• no aren't oxides metabolites
• no effects on the cytochrome P- 450 enzyme system
• eliminated from thebody through renal clearance
