How does the kidneys and the lungs keep the body in hemostasis state by regulating the pH of the body? (Be very describe in your answer explaining both organ systems and how they work in keeping the body in hemostasis.)
The kidneys and lungs are the important organ system to regulate the blood pH. Usually acid and base has to be balanced in order to maintain the body pH.The lungs excrete carbon dioxide and the kidney excrete it in form of carbonic acid. If this is not happening the acid state is maintained in the body instead of being alkaline . Hence disturbing the normal function or homeostasis of the body .In simple during expiration or exhalation the carbon dioxide containing acid is exhaled preventing acidosis. Similarly the carbonic acid should be excreted via the kidney if retained excess acid or base is retained causing alterations in homeostasis .
