What is important to consider before, during, and after administering these medications? Is this a sterile procedure? Does sterile water need to be used? How often should we ensure proper placement of the tube? How can we do this?

The important things that should be considered before, during and after administering these medications are-

i- Avoid disturbance or problems which interrupt the medication.

ii-Allow only one patient at a time for medication.

iii- Do hand wash with sanitizer.

iv- Never allows the patient to lie completely Straight.

v- Tell the patient to breathe through the mouth.

Yes, it is a sterile procedure. Sterile water can be used in the medication. We should ensure proper placement of the tube in every 24 hours. We can do this using X-Ray or camera on the tube.
