Answer #1

Electronic Health Record is a digital method of documenting patient details.

Over the advantages there were disadvantages as well which lead to slow adoption of EHR like

  • The start up costs is enormous
  • Need to purchase a device
  • Previous data has to be converted from paper work to an electronic device
  • The treating physician sometimes don't find the old records of the patient when not entered
  • Training the trainer on the usage of Electronic Medical record software is again expensive to pay the trainer

The early system like documentation in paper failed because of storage and it's preservation.

Hence these are some of the reason for adopting the EHR so slowly.
