How do you think some of the challenges that are centered on some of the HR management activities such as: Equal Employment Opportunity, Staffing, Health, Safety and Security just to name a few will be affected by quality standards especially those standards of JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) and the Healthcare Reform?

The joint commission provides accreditation to hospitals based on some quality standards. It is set up to improve the safety and quality of the care provided and also to improve health care services especially in hospitals. It is a symbol of quality meeting certain performance standards. These standards focuses on some of the areas like patient rights, patient treatment and infection control. These standards focuses not only on the organization’s ability to provide quality care but also its overall performance. The challenges are it strengthens confidence among the community in the quality and safety of care, improves and strengthens patient safety, provides opportunities for staff development and enhances staff recruitment and maintains high level quality.
