"I can't imagine what people thought about themselves after taking that Yerkes WWI Army test regarding intelligence. Wouldn't you think that the people who scored low would have low self-esteem? It's pretty sad that the test was a test to find out how intelligent one is because I didn't even know the last 2 answers for the sample questions you've provided. I would feel stupid if that was testing my actual intelligence:.
People who took the Yerkes WWI Army test regarding intelligence might have had conflicting thoughts about the test and their intelligence. Many of them might have had low self-esteem, but I don't think the majority of them shared this feeling. Many didn't have a good opinion about this test as it reminded them of the WWI days. Though this was first introduced in 1917 for WWI US military recruits, it was never appealing to the intellectual elite fraternity. People necessarily would not have low self-esteem for low scores in such a test. On the contrary, they should try to test their level of intelligence with the help of other tests and should be proud of their intelligence if they get a high score in any of these. Each one has got different talents and to prove their level of intelligence they necessarily don't have to depend on this test when many modern tests are available.
