For case control study the samples are selected based on their outcome status. Some participiants referred as cases because they have the outcome of interest. Others referred as controls as they do not have the outcome of interest. The observer assess the exposure in both groups.Thus, by design, in a case-control study the outcome has to occur in some of the participiants that have been included in the study.During study, assess the exposure of interest in both groups and study the association between the exposure and outcome.
