Nobody had ever thought that drugs should be or could be advertised to the patients. Before advertsements were for doctors and not for public. There was fear shared by doctors and drug companies ,on seeing the advertisements public may use advertising drugs directly so that can be harmful.The kind of people who sold stuff like packaged goods were completely different from the kind of people who sold stuff like prescription drugs. Physician is the best way of prescribing drugs. Drug advertisements mislead the people and are mostly aimed at profit.Increase in the number of pharmaceutical ads on TV in the last two decades.

There are lot of advertisements for drugs especially pain killers or analgesics .
