What will likely happen if the urine sample is centrifuged at a prolonged period of time and higher RCF? Then, discuss the significance of capping the tubes during centrifugation.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

separation by centrifugation is influenced by two factors-

1-RCF

2-centrifugation time.

in centrifugation urine should be centrifuged within normal time limit on given RCF. if it is centrifuged for longer time on high RCF then it is observed that higher recovery of microrganism is seen.recovery rate under sediments ranged for below 50 to 80 percent. increased recovery is not proportional to RCFand time but certainly increases.

centrifugation for prolonged time also leads to cell rupture and cast fragmentation.

capping the tubes during the centrifugation is very important so that fluid or any material does not spill or come out of thr tube while rotating on high RPM.

it is important for the safety of centrifuge machine and also for the reasercher and environment if tube contain any Hazardous material.

Hope this helps. all the best ☺️

The amount of oxygen consumption was measured in seven individuals over two periods of time while sitting with their eyes closed. During the first period, they listened to an exciting adventure story; during the second period of time, they heard restful music. The researcher is not sure whether participants will consume more or less oxygen during the story compared with the music. Here are their results: Subject Story Music 1 5.8 5.3 2 8.1 7.2 3 6.4 6.3 4 7.8...

What is the optimal time for a scuba diver to be on the bottom of the ocean? That depends on the depth of the dive. The U.S. Navy has done a lot of research on this topic. The Navy defines the "optimal time" to be the time at each depth for the best balance between length of work period and decompression time after surfacing. Let x = depth of dive in meters, and let y = optimal time in hours....

A study was done to investigate what people think is "creepy." Each person in a sample of women and a sample of men were asked to do the following. Imagine a close friend of yours whose judgment you trust. Now imagine that this friend tells you that she or he just met someone for the first time and tells you that the person was creepy. The people in the samples were then asked whether they thought the creepy person was...

Following is a statistically estimated demand Curve for Amazon’s regular services (i.e, on-time delivery of products). The marginal cost of delivery/shipment of an order is given as $3.50. Amazon predicts that demand for its regular 3/5 business day service during this year’s holiday season will be in the tune of 120 million orders for the period of April- June, 2018.             Amazon’s Daily Demand Curve for a 2-day delivery is given as: Q = 14.5 - P; where Q represents...
