Answer. Blood transfusion is an important process for the patient and the nurses are responsible to make this work successfully. Nurses are also responsible to take care of the patient while the blood transfusion procedure is running, so as to catch any sign or symptom of potential transfusion reactions, if occurring during transfusion or days after that. Nurses need to have knowledge about managing these reactions safely and effectively.

The most common reaction is through the transfusion of wrong blood, that is, of wrong group, and it will be seen within a few minutes after the start of transfusion. Many arising symptoms like abdominal pains, chills, dyspnoea, etc come.

So, to avoid such critical situations, the nurses need to be very careful throughout the process and be responsible in their share of works.
